SRM Energy Pvt Ltd to set up 3x600 MW Imported Coal based Thermal Power Project at Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu. The proposal is for setting up of a 1800 MW (3x600 MW) imported coal based thermal power project at village Alamelumangapuram in Chidambaram Taluk, Cuddalore District, Tamil Nadu. The project will be based on sub- critical technology. Imported coal requirement will be 5.10 million TPA. Ash and sulphur contents will be 15% and 1% respectively. Water requirement is 8660 m3/hr and will be sourced from Bay of Bengal. The land requirement is 812 ha. The coal will be transported by coal conveyor arrangement from Port/Jetty to the plant site. Coal handling will be either through the Cuddalore Port or Jetty to be constructed. On the North-west side of the proposed project, a lake named as Perumal Lake is there.
