Ambuja Cements is planning to set up a captive power plant of 50 MW in Marwar Mundwa in Nagaur district of Rajasthan. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 3000 million.
Avante Garde Infrastructure is setting up a 2×400 MW gas based combined cycle Power Plant at village Atru, in Atru Taluk, in Baran District in Rajasthan. Land requirement for the project will be 100 acres, which is available as waste land. Natural Gas requirement will be 4.0 MMSCMD. Water requirement will be 24000 KLD, which will be obtained from Parvati River through a pipeline over a distance of 8.0 km from the project site. The company has signed the MOU with GAIL for gas supply and transportation.

Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Ltd is setting up a 1000 MW gas based thermal power project in Keshoraipatan in Bundi district in Rajasthan. A new company in the name & style of Keshorai Patan Thermal Power Ltd has been floated to implement the project. The company has acquired land for this project. The project was announced in December 2009 with a capacity of 1,000 MW. The State Government approval was received in July 2010. It will entail an investment of Rs..4,000 crore. Fuel requirement will be 5.1 MMSCMD of natural gas and sourced from GAIL gas pipeline. Water requirement will be 2.62 MCM, which will be sourced from the Chambal River through a pipeline about a distance of 27 km from the project site. The project is likely to go operational in July 2014.
