Punjab State Electricity Board to expand 2x250 MW HTPP Stage-III at village Lehra Mohabat in Bhatinda district of Punjab. The proposal is for setting up of a 2x250 MW coal based thermal power project as an expansion stage-III to the existing 920 MW Guru Hargobind Thermal Power Project at village Lehra Mohabat, District Bhatinda, Punjab. The land requirement for the project is estimated as 430 acres. Coal will be obtained from SECL/MCL and will be transported through rail. Water requirement will be met from Sirhind canal. The Committee observed that the land requirement is on a higher side, particularly keeping in view that it is prime agricultural land and should be optimized so as to restricted to around 300 acres.
