Balasore Alloys Ltd to set up 2x67.5 MW Captive Power Plant at Balgopalpur

Balasore Alloys Ltd to set up 2x67.5 MW Captive Power Plant at Balgopalpur in Balasore district of Orissa. The land requirement is 220 ha. Coal requirement is 0.86 million TPA, which will be obtained from Talcher Coalfields. Water requirement is 930 m3/hr, which will be obtained from Budhabalang river. Closed circuit cooling system with cooling towers will be provided.

Berhampur Muncipal Corp to set up solid waste project

Berhampur Municipal Corp is planning to set up a solid waste management based power project in Chandania waste dump yard. It has tied up with IFC for funding the project to the tune of 75000 USD. The corp is likely to call for tender to select a consultant to build the power project on BOOT basis.

BGR Energy Systems plans 1320 MW coal based power project in Bhapur

BGR Energy Systems has signed an MoU with Orissa state government for setting up a 2x660 MW coal based thermal power project in Bhapur in Nayagarh district in Orissa. The project will entail an investment of Rs.62870 million. According to the MoU, the Orissa government will assist in land acquisition, water allotment and mandatory clearances, allotment of coal blocks. In return, Orissa will receive 12 to 14% of power generated from the project at price determined from the project.
