NTPC to set up 2x500 MW Vindhyachal Super Thermal Power Project, Stage-IV located in Tehsil Waidhan in Singaruli district of Madhya Pradesh , where 3260 MW capacity power plant is already under operation. The main plant will be located within the premises of existing power plant in an area of about 100 acres while 500 acres of additional land for ash disposal would be required. Coal requirement is estimated as 5.5 Million TPA, which will be obtained from Pakri Barwadih Coal Mine at a distance of about 500 km by rail. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 47736 million.
The company's board has given approval for the project in December 2011. The company has awarded the BTG contract to NTPC
M.P. Power Generating Co to set up 2x250 MW Unit 10 & 11 Satpura Thermal Power Station at Sarni in Betul district of Madhya Pradesh. Coal requirement will be 2.576 million metric tones per annum at 80% PLF. Water requirement is estimated as 1855 m3/hr, which will be met from Satpura Reservoir. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 26370 million.
