Haryana Power Generation Corporation to set up 1200 MW Hissar Thermal Power Project in Haryana. The power plant shall be either 2x500 MW or 2x600 MW depending upon finalization of the configuration. The total land requirement for the project is 1139 acres, which includes 585 acres for plant and 232 acres for ash disposal. The coal requirement is estimated as 5.2 MTPA, which will be obtained from the North Karanpura mine at a distance of about 1200 km. The water requirement is 115200 m3/day, which will be met from Barwala Branch of Bhakra Canal System. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 45642 million.
