NTPC is planning to set up a 1050 (3 x 350 MW) gas based project in Faridabad. Gas requirement for the project is estimated at 3.55 mmscmd. Land and water is available for the project, while environment clearance is yet to obtained. Gas allocation is applied for.

Haryana Power Generation Corp has commissioned its 600 MW first phase of the Rajiv Gandhi Khedar Thermal Power Plant (RGKTPP) in Hissar. The company has awarded the EPC contract to R-Infra, Anil Dhirubhai Ambani group and hired NTPC as project consultants. The boiler, turbines and generators were supplied by Shanghai Electric Corporation, China.

Haryana Power Generation Corporation to set up 1x300 MW Thermal Power Project Expansion Unit 3 at Yamuna Nagar in Haryana. The project involves setting up of 1x300 MW Thermal Power Project as Expansion Unit 3 near villages Kalanpur, Ratanpur, Ishapur, Rampur Majra and Tajakpur in district Yamuna Nagar. An additional 100 acre of land will be required for ash pond. Total water requirement is 1100 m3/hr and will be met from Yamuna river. Total coal requirement is estimated as 1.4 MTPA (at 90% PLF & 2500 kcal/kwh heat rate). The project including ash pond will be more than 500 m from HFL of the Yamuna river. Closed circuit cooling with COC of 5 to be adopted.
