Welspun Gujarat Stahl Rohren to set up 123 MW CPP at Village Varsamedi in Kutch district of Gujarat. The land requirement for the project is 60 acres, which is available in the existing 600 acres of land with the company. No additional land acquisition is involved. AFBC boilers with lime injection will be installed. Imported coal and lignite in the ratio of 70:30 will be used as fuel. The coal requirement will be 840 TPD and will be imported through either Kandla Port or Mundra Port and the lignite requirement is estimated as 360 TPD, which will be obtained from Panandhro Lignite Mines at a distance of 60 km and will be transported by road. The lime requirement is estimated as 14 TPD, which will be obtained locally. The total water requirement for all the phases put together is estimated as 15000 m3/day, which will be obtained from GWIL Narmada Water Pipeline Desalination Water Plant promoted by Govt. of Gujarat. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 1250 million.
