Coastal Sirohi Power is planning to set up a 1320 MW coal based thermal project in VANPIC project area in Devarampadu village in Ongole Taluk in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh. The project will use imported coal and will be based on super critical technology. The company has appointed Fitchner Consulting Engineers to prepared DPR and L&T Ramboll to carry out the EIA study. Land requirement will be 750 acres, out of which 747.9 acres is assigned land and 2.1 acres is Govt. land. Coal requirements will be 4.6 MTPA. Coal will be imported from Indonesia. Water requirement will be about 274 MLD, which will be sourced from the Gundlakamma River and Bay of Bengal through a pipeline at a distance of 1.5 km and 3.5km respectively from project site.
