Accord Energy Corp plans 300 MW coal based project in Gummidipoondi

Accord Energy Corp is planning to set up 2x150 MW coal based thermal project in Sirupulapettai in Gummidipoondi in Tamil Nadu. The project involves setting up of a pulverized coal fired boiler of capacity 525 TPH and will use both Indian and imported coal. Land required for the project is 73 acres. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 12000 million.

Arkay Energy Rameswaram to expand its Valthur unit

Arkay Energy (Rameswaram) Ltd (of Ind Barath Group) is planning to expand its capacity at its Valuthur unit in Ramnathapuram Taluk in Tamil Nadu by adding 2 x8.73 MW of HRSG units. The total capacity after addition will be 188.6 MW. Land requirement will be 13 acres, which will be within the existing plant. Natural Gas requirement will be 2,70,000 SCMD. Water requirement will be 20 m3/day, which will be obtained from desalinated water from South Ganga water Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Through tankers over a distance of 2.0 km. The company is also planning to expand by adding another 2x8.73 MW unit.

ARS Metals setting up 120 MW unit in Gummidipoondi

ARS Metals is setting up a 120 MW coal based project at Sithurnatham, Sirupulalpettai and Eguvarpalayam villages in Gummidipoondi Taluk in Thiruvallur district in Tamil Nadu. Imported and domestic coal will be used in the ratio of 50:50.The boiler technology for the project is Circulating Fluidized Bed Combustion (CFBC), which has achieved the best air pollution control at the least possible cost. The boiler will be capable of producing electricity through all the variety of coal available around the world, as the coal will be sourced both indigenously through long-term coal linkage with Coal India Ltd and imported through acquisition of captive mines in South East Asia and eastern Africa. Air cooled condenser will be used. Water requirement will be 57750 175 cum/day, which will be met from harvested rain water. No ground water will be used for operating the power plant.
