Orissa Power Projects
Lanco Group to set up 1320 MW thermal power project at Babandh in Dhenkanal district of Orissa. The proposed power plant will be based on super critical technology. The land requirement is estimated as 1400 acre. Water requirement is estimated as 45 cusecs, which will be obtained from Brahmini river at a distance of about 12 km. The coal requirement is estimated as 6.5 million TPA and will be obtained from Talcher Coal Mines. The coal will be transported by rail from Talcher Coal Mines upto Sadashibapur Railway Station and from there by MGR system. Natural draft cooling towers to be provided.
