Bhushan Energy Ltd promoted by Bhushan Steel & Strips)to set up 185 MW thermal power project at Meramandali in Dhenkanal district of Orissa. CFBC boilers will be installed. Coal middlings from the washery and char from steel plant will be used as fuel. Expansion project is estimated to cost Rs.9160 million for which financial closure is yet to be achieved. It may be noted, the company has commissioned 2x150 MW in April 2010.
Chambal Infrastructure to implement 1320 MW thermal project in Siaria in Dhenkanal district of Orissa. The company had signed an MoU with the state government during 2009 and the capacity envisaged is 1200 MW initially now increased to 2x 660 MW in two phases. The project cost is estimated at Rs.49,930 million and will have super critical technology. Chambal Energy (Orissa) has been formed as a special purpose vehicle to implement the project.
Land acquisition is in progress.
Ind Barath Power Energy (Utkal) Ltd is implementing a coal based thermal project in Sahajbahal in Jharsuguda in Orissa. The project involves setting up of 2x350 MW units pulverised coal fired reheat type boilers which is to be supplied by Harbine Turbine and Cethar Vessels. Coal requirement is estimated at 11,500 mt /day. Around 464 acres of land have been acquired for the project. The project is expected to go operational in June 2012.
