India Bulls Power to set up 1320 MW thermal project at Nandgaonpeth

India Bulls Power to set up 1320 MW thermal project at Nandgaonpeth in Amravati district in Maharashtra. MIDC has allotted 1350 acres of land to the project. Fuel linkage has also been received from SECL, Mahanadi Coalfields and Western Coal Fields. Vidharbha Irrigation Development Corporation (VIDC), Nagpur has approved water allocation 87.6 million cubic meters per annum. A special purpose vehicle "Sophia Power Co Ltd " was promoted to implement the project.

The site is reported to be in notified industrial area of MIDC. Land requirement is 1350 acres. Water requirement is 9,000 m3/hr and will be drawn from Upper Wardha Dam. Super critical technology will be adopted. Coal requirement is 13 million TPA.

Coal linkage is available. BHEL has been awarded the BTG contract, Shapoorji Paloonji has been awarded the BTG civil works, while Ganon Dunkerly has been awarded the Balance of Plant works - Civil, L&T the coal handling plant.
