Reliance Industries to set up 800 MW combined cycle power plant at Kurkumb

Reliance Industries to set up 800 MW combined cycle power plant at Kurkumb in Pune in Maharashtra. The plant will be located within RIL’s Glycol Plant’s Premises which is stated to be within MIDC Complex. The land requirement is 80 - 90 acres. About 50 acres of land is in the possession of the company and the remaining land is available within the industrial estate. The plant will be implemented in two phases. However, right of way (ROW) for the gas pipeline will be required. Water requirement of 33360 m3/day will be supplied by MIDC from Ujani Dam on Bhima river. Natural gas requirement is estimated as 3.6 mmscmd, which will be obtained from KG Basin.
