Maharashtra State Power Generation Co to set up 300 MW coal based thermal power project at Parli-Vaijnathi in Beed district of Maharashtra. The land requirement for the proposed project will be 100 ha.  The coal requirement of 1.5 million TPA for the proposed project will be met from the existing coal linkage and the captive coal blocks (Machhakata coal block).  The water requirement will be met from Khadka barrage. Auxiliary fuel such as LDO and FO will be used. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 12627 million.

Maharashtra Airport Development Co to set up 100 MW (2x50 MW) Captive Power Plant near village Khairi in  Hingna Taluk in Nagpur district of Maharashtra. The land requirement for the project will be 23.59 ha. Water requirement is 16130 m3/day, which will be sourced from Wadgaon Dam. Coal requirement is 2184 TPD.  Coal will be obtained from Wardha valley Coalfields and will have maximum sulphur content of 0.45% and ash content up to 40%.   The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 3492 million.

Mahagenco to set up 2x500 MW Chandrapur Super Thermal Power Project Expansion


Mahagenco to set up 2x500 MW Chandrapur Super Thermal Power Project Expansion in Chandrapur district of Maharashtra. The land requirement is estimated as 174 ha, which includes 34 ha for greenbelt.  The proposed plant will be located within the existing complex. Water will be obtained from Irai Dam.  Coal will be obtained from Machakata Coal Block.  No additional ash pond will be created as part of this project.  The existing ash pond will be used.   The ash pond is located at a distance of 13 km from the power plant and the unutilized ash will be disposed in the form of slurry through close pipelines. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 55000 million.  It may be noted, that Tadoba National Park and Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary is situated at a distance of 40 km from the proposed Thermal Power Station site.
