Wardha Power Co to set up 2x135 MW (Phase-I) Thermal Power Project at Warora in Chandrapur in Maharashtra. The land requirement is 91 ha. The coal requirement is estimated as 3600 TPD, which will be obtained from Morga II Block, Chhattisgarh by rail. The water requirement is estimated as 946 m3/hr, which will be obtained from MIDC. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 11979 million.

Maharasthra Energy Generation Ltd, a special purpose vehicle of Reliance ADAG group is to set up 4000 MW Shapur Gas based project. The project's final capacity will be finanlized during the pre-bidding process which is underway in September 2010. It may be noted that, the gas supply agreement for the project is under Supreme Court and the decision is pending.The natural gas will be sourced from Krishna Godavari (KG) Basin gas fields. The project involves setting up of either multi shaft modules or identical single shaft modules and may comprise of 2 gas turbine generator units, two heat recovery steam generator systems and one steam turbine generator system.

Urban Energy Generation to set up 2000 MW Gas based Power Project at Dronagiri


Urban Energy Generation to set up 2000 MW Gas based Power Project at Dronagiri in Navi Mumbai Special Economic Zone at Dronagiri in Uran Taluka of Raigarh District, Maharashtra. The land requirement for the project is 40 ha.  Gas requirement is estimated as 11 MMSCMD and will be obtained from the spur line from East West Pipeline. The water requirement for condenser cooling is estimated as 1,41,000 m3/hr, which will be obtained from sea water from Karanja Creek.  In addition, 205 m3/hr of water will be obtained from Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 59017 million.
