Urban Energy Generation to set up 2100 MW thermal project at Kondgaon in Roha Taluk in Raigad district of Maharashtra. Six modules of 350 MW each of gas turbine will be installed. The land requirement is estimated as 250 acres. Natural gas from east west pipeline will be used as fuel. However, HSD will be used in emergency situation limited to a maximum of two days in a year. The gas requirement is estimated as 9 MMSCMD. Water requirement is estimated as 1,00,400 CMD, which will be met from Nagothane weir at Godsai village on Amba river. Water reservoir of capacity equal to two days requirement will be constructed. Six stacks of height 75 m each to be provided.

Urban Energy Generation to set up 2100 MW thermal project at Vangni Tarfe in Taloja in Panvel Taluka in Raigad district of Maharashtra. . Six modules of 350 MW each of one gas turbine generator and one steam turbine generator will be installed. The land requirement is estimated as 450 acres. The site is reported to be beyond 12 km from Matheran. Natural gas from east west pipeline will be used as fuel. Water requirement is estimated as 100440 m3/day, which will be met from Hetawane Dam.

Ideal Energy Projects to set up 270 MW thermal project at Bela in Nagpur district of Maharashtra. The total land requirement is estimated as 101 ha, which includes 35 ha for greenbelt. Water requirement is estimated as 15102 m3/day, which will be met from Wadgaon Dam. Closed circuit cooling with cooling towers having COC of 8 will be adopted. Fly ash will be collected in dry form and used in cement plant. deal Energy Projects, which is setting up a 540-MW plant near Nagpur, is hoping to rope in a private equity partner to pick up a 30 per cent stake in the company. To be implemented in two phases of 270 MW each, the first phase is expected to be completed by 2011 and the second in 2012. The company is also considering some hydro-power assets in the North-Eastern States, but no decision has been taken so far. Financial closure Mr Jayant Mhaiskar, Managing Director, said the company had achieved financial closure for the first phase with a consortium of banks led by Canara bank offering Rs 1,107 crore as debt. Ideal Energy has infused Rs 800 crore equity in the project. Capex requirement for the 540-MW project is about Rs 2,800 crore. The company is in possession of 200 acres required for the project. Further, it has tied up for coal linkages with the Western Coalfields, besides water supply from the Wadgaon Dam, near Wardha. Orders have been placed with BHEL for boilers, turbines and generators, while balance of plant would be undertaken by McNally Bharat Engineering. Also, a power purchase agreement has been signed with Reliance Power for 200 MW, while 70 MW power would be traded on merchant basis.
