Jinbhuvish Power Generations to set up 2x270 MW Coal based thermal project at Dhanmukh in Yavatamal district of Maharashtra. The land requirement for the project is estimated as 240 ha. Out of the identified land, 150 ha is stated to be single crop agriculture land. Water will be obtained from Wadad Dam at a distance of about 8 km.

Pioneer Gas Power to set up 400 MW gas based project at Bhagad

Pioneer Gas Power, belonging to the Pioneer Distilleries is planning to set up a 400 MW gas based combined cycle power plant at Bhagad in Mangaon Tehsil in Raigad district of Maharashtra. The company has invited international competitive bids to select the EPC contractor and may be announced in January 2011.

NTPC plans expansion of Dabhol Combined Cycle Power project

NTPC Ltd is planning to expand the Dabhol Combined Cycle Power project in Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra. The project involves setting up of an additional unit of 2100 MW unit. Out of the 1700 acres in the existing site, still 500 acres is left unutilized. 8.5 mmscmd of gas required for the project is to be sourced from KG basin through Dabhol-Panvel pipeline. The project is yet to get statutory clearances. It has commissioned NIO, Goa to conduct a marine impact assessment study.
