Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Co is setting up a 1200 MW coal based Singaji thermal power project in Dongalia Taluk in Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 67500 million of which 80% of funding have been tied up. The main plant work contract has been awarded to BHEL and Balance of Plant work has been awarded to L&T. All statutory clearances have been obtained. The project is under implementation and unit I is scheduled to go operational in December 2012 and the second unit by March 2013

Order placed on SMS Infrastructure Nagpur on 23.03.2011 for execution of rail link from BIR to plant . DPR & Engg. Scale Plan approved by Railway. Bridge Drawings to be approved by Railways. Work under execution by SMS Infrastructure within plant since 29.05.11. Formation work and sleeper erection is in progress
