Shahpura Thermal Power Co to set up 2 x 660 MW thermal project

Shahpura Thermal Power Co to set up 2 x 660 MW thermal project at villages Magarmuha, Kulon, Chhaprat, Bhamka and Bhamki, in Jabalpur district of Madhya Pradesh. . The project will be based on super critical technology. Land requirement is estimated as 525 ha. Water requirement will be met from river Narmada. Closed circuit cooling to be adopted.

Jaiprakash Associates Ltd to set up 2x500 MW Thermal Power Plant at Nigri

Jaiprakash Associates Ltd to set up 2x660 MW Thermal Power Plant at Nigri in Sidhi district in Madhya Pradesh. The land requirement is 433 ha, which includes 22 ha for cement grinding unit. Water requirement for the power plant is stated to be 65.3 cusecs, which will be obtained from Gopad river. Coal requirement is 5 million TPA which will be obtained from Amelia (N) and Dongrital-II Coal Blocks. Super critical technology will be adopted.

Project Details

Jaypee Nigrie Super Thermal Power Project comprising 2 x 660 MW Super-critical Unit will be set up by Jaiprakash Power Ventures Limited, a subsidiary of JAL. The expected date of commissioning for Unit - I and Unit - II are end April 2013 and end October 2013 respectively.

Amelia (North) and Dongri Tal – II coal block with total coal reserves of 250 MT of coal. These coal blocks contain sufficient coal reserves to fuel the Nigrie Thermal project over the long term. JAL is expected to develop and mine this coal in a joint venture with MPSMCL. The joint venture has been allotted these two coal blocks solely for the purpose of supplying fuel to the Nigrie Thermal Project.

The Nigrie Thermal Project is expected to utilize coal from two captive coal blocks. Recently, the company has entered into an agreement with L&T-MHI Pvt. Ltd. (JV between L&T Ltd. And Mitsubishi heavy Industries Limited, Japan) for supply of super- critical, environmental friendly, more energy efficient Boiler, Turbines and Generator (BTG) packages for their Nigrie project.

Raymonds to add 1.5 MW at Boregaon plant


Raymonds to add 1.5 MW at Boregaon plant located at Chhindwara in Madhya Pradesh. The plant will be located within the existing land allocated to the project. The land for the existing CPP is 6.27 acres. The plant is located in Boregaon Industrial Estate. The additional coal requirement is 31 tonnes per day, which will be obtained from WCL.
