Adhunik Thermal Energy to set up 2x135 MW thermal power project at Kandra in Sarikela district of Jharkhand. The land requirement for the project is 173 ha. Coal requirement is 1.44 million TPA, which will be obtained from North Karanpura Coalfields. Captive block has been allocated for the purpose. CFBC boilers without lime injection will be installed. Water requirement is 1150 m3/hr, which will be obtained from Swarnarekha river.

Essar Power (Jharkhand) Ltd to set up 2000 MW Tori Super Thermal Power Project at Chandwa in Latehar district of Jharkhand. The project will be implemented in two stages of 1200 MW (2x600 MW) and 800 MW respectively. The land requirement is estimated as 2100 acres. Coal will be obtained from Chakla Coal Block in North Karanpura. The annual coal requirement is estimated as 9 million TPA. Water requirement is estimated as 1,92,000 m3/day and will be obtained from Damodar river and Nagarnadia nallah.

CESC to set up 1000 MW thermal power plant at Dumka in Jharkhand

CESC to set up 1000 MW thermal power plant at Dumka in Jharkhand. The land requirement is estimated as 400 ha. The coal requirement is estimated as 4.03 million TPA, which will be obtained from the captive mine block Mahuagarhi at a distance of about 13 km. Coal will be transported by road. The water requirement is estimated as 45 cusecs and will be obtained from Brahmani river by constructing a spillover dam.
