About the Company :
APNRL has entered into an MoU with the Government of Jharkhand to set up a 1,080 MW coal-based thermal power plant.
As a first step towards this, the Company is implementing a 540 MW (2 x 270) power plant at villages Padampur and
Srirampur in Sareikela-Kharsawan district
The fuel linkage of the power station will be from captive Ganeshpur coal block, which has been allotted to APNRL and
Tata Steel on a 50:50 JV basis. The Company has secured tapering coal linkage (to take care of the coal requirements till
the captive mine is operational) for 540 MW. The Company is executing the project on a split package basis and has placed
the order for the BTG package contract with BHEL for the entire 540 MW. The BOP will be constructed with contracts to

The Company has engaged M/s Development Consultants Private Limited (DCPL), Kolkata, as
Consulting Engineers, for assisting APNRL in finalising placement of order for plant & machinery
and detailed designing of the project including advisory on civil construction and plant erection.
MoEF clearance and NOC from Pollution Control Board have been received for Phase I & II (2x540

Phase I of 2x270 have been commissioned while phase II of 2x 270 is under implementation and is
expected to go operational by 2014.
Ganga Power & Natural Resources Ltd (formerly Adhunik Natural Resources) plans 1320 MW
thermal unit in Bhagalpur in Bihar. The company had signed MoU with the state government and
has acquired 300 acres of land. As of January 2011, fuel linkage is yet to be obtained. Environment
clearance is yet to be obtained. Financial closure is yet to be achieved.
New MoU with BSEB signed on 29th Nov’2010 for 1320MW in the name of GPNRL
MoU was signed with BSEB on 19th Oct’2008 for 1000MW. Validity extended upto 19th Dec’2010.
Coal requirement- 6.9 MMTPA.
Estimated Cost : Rs.. 75000 million
Application for acquisition of 815 acres land in Pirpainti block given to GoB.
Applied for aviation clearance for construction of 275 mtrs Chimney. 60 MCM water has been
allocated from River Ganga by WRD, GoB. CWC Clearance accorded on 17.09.2010. Water study

tentative plot plan and bankable DPR. Specification for BTG packages also prepared. Expected

Fuel linkages had been applied for and has identified 35 acres of the required 1260 acres.
Environmental clearance applied for and financial closure is yet to start. The project is likely to go
operational in 2015. Fichtner Consulting has been appointed for preparation for detailed project
preparation and to assist in selection of BTG contractor.
