Limited) in August 2007 with the purpose to undertake activities related to development and operation of domestic coal
Selected as a Joint Venture (JV) Partner by Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL) and formed a JV
company Parsa Kante Collieires Ltd. (PKCL) to undertake development and operation of Parsa East and Kanta Basan Coal
Blocks in the state of Chattisgarh with peak production capacity of 15 MTPA.

Adani Mining is planning to set up a 1080 MW coal based thermal power project using the coal
rejects from Parsa East and Kente Basan mines. Adani's own subsidiary Parsa Kente Collieries Ltd
has applied for mining lease to operate the mines, but was rejected 3 times by the environmental
ministry as the mines falls in a rich eco system. However, land acquisition is going on briskly.

The company has tied up with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Uptadan Nigam Ltd for the project to
develop the coal mines. As a private player the company had faced stiff resistance to develop the
coal mines in the forest region. The project will see further development in 2013.
A special purpose vehicle - Sarguja Rail Corridor Pvt. Ltd (SRCPL) is promoted by Adanis to
develop the 61.5 km rail corridor which would enable coal supply from coal mines to Surajpur Road
Railway Station, at an estimated cost of Rs. 610 crore.
In April 2013, the company has commenced construction of coal mine.
