JSW Energy plans 1320 MW coal based project in Kukurda

JSW Energy Ltd is planning to set up a 1320 MW (2 x 660 MW) coal based thermal power project in Kukurda in Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh. The project will use imported coal from Indonesia. Water requirement is likely to be met from Mahanadi river. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 73,000 million. MoU with the state government was signed in 2008 and public hearing for statutory environmental clearance was conducted in 2010.
