Chhattisgarh State Electricity Board to set up 2x500 MW Thermal Power Plant at Marwa in Janjgir-Champa district of Chhattisgarh. The coal requirement is estimated to be 742.4 tonnes/hr. The total water requirement is estimated as 3550 m3/hr, which will be obtained from Hasdeo river. The land requirement for the project is 508 ha, which includes 174 ha for greenbelt and 140 ha for ash disposal. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 44,980 million.

Latest News

The first unit of 500 MW is expected to go operational in September 2012 and the second unit by November 2012.
