Sona Power to set up 2 x 300 MW thermal power project at Mudpar, Kachanda, Khisora & Salkhan villages in Nawagarh Tehsil, Janjgir-Champa district of Chhattisgarh. The project will be implemented in two phases of 300 MW each. The land requirement is estimated as 263 ha. Water requirement will be met from river Mahanadi. Engineers & Consultant is the consultant and Hindustan Coal Linkage is the coal supplier for the project

JSW Energy plans 1320 MW coal based project in Kukurda

JSW Energy Ltd is planning to set up a 1320 MW (2 x 660 MW) coal based thermal power project in Kukurda in Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh. The project will use imported coal from Indonesia. Water requirement is likely to be met from Mahanadi river. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 73,000 million. MoU with the state government was signed in 2008 and public hearing for statutory environmental clearance was conducted in 2010.

Essar Power Chhattisgarh Ltd to set up 1200 MW Mahanadi Super Thermal Power Project near Dabra in Janjgir-Champa district of Chhattisgarh. The land requirement is estimated as 1100 acres. No forestland is involved. Coal will be obtained from SECL. Water requirement will be met from river Mahanadi.
