APGENCO to set up 2 x 800 MW Krishnapatnam thermal power project

APGENCO to set up 2 x 800 MW Krishnapatnam thermal power project, in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh. The land requirement for the project is 1250 acres, which also includes land for coal conveyors. The coal requirement is estimated as 13656 TPD and it is proposed to blend the Indian washed coal (70%) and imported coal (30%). The water requirement is estimated as 296400 m3/day, which will be obtained from sea. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 84,321 million.

Date of commissioning of Unit 1 has changed from May 2010 to July 2012 and Date of commissioning of Unit 2 has changed from November 2011 to January 2013

APGENCO informed that the project name has been changed as Sri Damodaram Sanjeevaiah TPS.

PFC sanctioned a loan of INR 4785.2 Crore and KFW, Germany is financing to the extent of 281 million Euro.

Desein is the project consultant.

MOEF clearance obtained on 17.07.07.

BOP package awarded on Tata projects Ltd. Including civil works on 10.02.09. Zero date fixed as 27.02.09.

BHEL is expected to open their site office . L&T and The project is likely to go operational have opened their site offices.

Infrastructure facilities like construction power, water & roads are arranged/ being arranged.

Levelling & Grading works of CT-2, coal storage yard, WTP areas are in progress.

Pedestals completed for ESP fdns of both the units.

Pedestals for Boiler fdns of U-1&2 in progress.

Engg.of various BHEL equipment in progress. Boiler erection of unit-1 commenced by Aug’10.

RCC pile cap for bunker bay of both units completed.

Piling for TG building in progress and piling for TG fdns. Completed.

Chimney pile castings and PCC completed.

S/Yard: Excavation & PCC in progress.

Sea Water Reservoir Pump house: RCC floor and casting of wall for reservoir completed. Raft of pump house completed.

Engg.of various L&T equipment in progress. Testing of Generator for unit-1 completed on 20.03.10.

Techpro Systems have been awarded the ash and coal handling and balance of plant packages in March 2012.
