APGENCO to set up 1 x 500 Kothagudem Thermal Power station Stage-VI in Paloncha in Khammam district of Andhra Pradesh. The land requirement is 89.7 ha which is already available within the existing complex and therefore no additional land would be acquired Washed coal with sulphur content of 0.58% and ash content of 34% will be used. The requirement of coal has been estimated as 7085 TPD. Coal will be transported through rail. Closed cycle cooling system with natural draft cooling tower will be provided. A single flue stack of 275 m height will be provided. The fly ash will be collected in dry form in the silos and will be used for cement and brick manufacture. The water requirement is estimated as 34920 m3/day, which will be met from Kinnerasani Reservoir. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 21640 million.
