APGENCO to set up Kakatiya Thermal Power Project, Stage-II (600 MW) near Chelpur village, Ghanpur Mandal in Warrangal district of Andhra Pradesh. The land requirement for this project is estimated as 263 ha, out of which 223 ha is already available and 40 ha will be acquired for coal conveyor from Tadicherla Coal Block. Coal will be obtained from their captive coal block. Water requirement is 38,664 m3/day, which will be obtained from river Godavari. The ash pond will be located at a distance of at least 100 m from the Vagu. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 29686 million.
APGENCO to set up 2100 MW Gas based Combined Cycle Power Plant near Nedunoor in Karimnagar district of Andhra Pradesh. Natural gas will be used as fuel which will be obtained from KG basin from M/s Reliance Industries Ltd. The gas requirement is estimated as 2.0 MMTA. Gas will be supplied through pipeline and there will be no storage of gas at site. Land requirement is estimated as 175 ha and water for the project is to be sourced from Maneru dam. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 56,070 million.
The company had taken up implementation of 1st stage of 1 x 700 MW and according to government policies, natural Gas will be allotted according to readiness and hence, the project is likely to go operational with RLNG. The project is likely to be completed by March 2013. As of November 2011, the project have been announced as shelved for non allotment of natural gas.
