Suryachakra Thermal Energy plans 140 MW unit in Jharupudi

Suryachakra Thermal Energy is planning to set up 2 x 70 MW unit in Jharupudi village in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh. Land required for the project is 140 acres and coal requirement is around 0.55 mtpa. The company had applied for statutory clearances. It may be noted, Telkunchi Bird Sanctuary is located just 11.4 kms from the project site.

Nagarjuna Construction plans 3x660 MW in Machlipatnam in Andhra Pradesh

Nagarjuna Construction Co Ltd is planning to set up coal based 3x660 MW unit in Chinnapuram in Machlipatnam in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh. The coal requirement will be 9.5 mtpa and will use blended coal with 70%Indian and 30% imported coal which will have low sulphur and ash content. The company had applied for statutory clearances and is likely to see progress in end 2010.

Reliance Infrastructure plans 1200 MW gas powered project in Peddapuram

Reliance Infrastructure plans to expand its Samalkot unit by adding a 1200 MW unit in Peddapuram in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. The gas plant will required around 6.5 mmscmd of gas and is to be sourced from KG basin. The project is in developmental phase and is in the process of getting statutory clearances. It may be noted the company‘s already has a gas power station of 220 MW which is in operation.
